February 5, 8:56PM I feel less dateable because of my disinterest in sci fi/video game/comics. I don't belong with the opposite polarity of "trendy," either (the pecs/tits/sports/Hills set). I'm not enough of a consumer to be a hipster, either. I wouldn't even be able to profile myself on a dating site. CAN RELATE (4) CAN'T RELATE (1) FLAG FOR ABUSE

You don't care about those trends, you don't really fit in. That means you're 'alternative'. :P Just write about the things you do care about, and enjoy.

Maybe you're just a person, not defined by your interests. Maybe you don't only have to date people who like all the same things as you. I like hippie festivals, fitness, and business. Therefore I must be a contradiction and cannot possibly exist....... head explodes.

ps Not to quibble, but I didn't invoke the -ism. Hipsters are consumers. They pride themselves at being the best at it. They are consumers of retro, and anticipate trends. They are the ultimate consumers.

most hipsters are waiters with 3 roommates and possessions in 3 boxes. Compare that with your average professional type. second of all, your disinterest in nerd things like videogames makes you less dateable?
