i'm not afraid to have sex. however, i am afraid i'll get herpes not from sex but only because i was afraid of people who have herpes.

Don't be. I have herpes, and it's really not a big deal. 1 out of 6 people have it. If you want to waste your time worrying about diseases, at least pick something fatal like cancer. Even HIV is manageable these days. Getting herpes is way better than being celibate.

That's a terrible thing to say, lk. It's a fair thing to be worried about getting herpes. Educate yourself on the matter. It is a common disease, but at the same time, it's not to say you have to ever put yourself at risk of it. Herpes and being celibate are not joined that way, there are people who are clean, or people who are honest and are willing to take necessary precautions. If you're really worried, find someone you trust first, because you'll never relax if you're terrified. Then bring it up.
