Don't blame the universe, this is all you, so take some accountability. If you feel this way own it for yourself and, act accordingly. Your boyfriend deserves nothing less. Peace and love to you, and what is right for all involved. Whatever that may be.

I tend to use humor as a defence mechanism but thank you for the kind words and reality check, really. My boyfriend tours and is somewhat of a workaholic. Every once in a while I/we have a tough time with it. Crushing on someone else is an unfair form of compensation. I'm working on it. Same to you too, peace and love.

To play armchair psychologist: I think that's a pretty natural response to the situation you're in. While you want to reinforce the connection you have with your partner, you project it unto his friends because they are associated with him. I think its normal to feel sexual attraction toward members of the opposite sex within ones social circles. However I think your case is made difficult by the fact that you are dissociated from the person you love, and so your feelings are thus projected. Obviously you can't act on them, but neither can you simply deny them. You have to find a balance in which you feel more fulfilled from your partner, and that will either take some compromise on their part wherein he puts energy into his relationship with you while he is away - through skype or something else... or else you should recognize the inevitability of cheating as being something that will occur at the end of bitterness. If you bring it up and he opts to do nothing that will accelerate the progression into that state of bitterness, and so ultimately you must recognize that when you bring it up its something he either takes seriously, or something over which you decide to end the relationship. The universe didn't do this to you - your boyfriends absence did... and clearly your instincts are telling you something: it doesn't matter all that much which boy it is, you just want someone who is similar to your type, and available.
