there`s no way to make it a nice thing. All you can do is to avoid being unnecessarily mean about it. Since you don`t intend to ever see them again its clear you don`t care about them. Its more to avoid feeling guilty yourself... but consider that ultimately you`ll forget about it, so even if it seems imperfectly sterilized you`ll still move on with your life.
