Maybe she works a lot and doesn't get out much otherwise. Maybe she talks a lot when she's nervous. I think unless people are alarmingly rude or toss up glaring red flags they deserve a second date and some cordiality. There's a lot of pressure on date one, try again and maybe you can encourage some new topics out of her if she doesn't switch up on her own.

I did guide the subject to dating, her desires, etc., but it drifted back to her work. She does like to talk. My gut right away was that I'm not her type, though do fit her general description of what she wants in a man. Can a left-brained woman and a right-brained man find happiness? Or even be FWBs? Time will tell in this case, though I doubt that I'll see her again. Luckily, I've learned to have low expectations, and have spent a fair amount of money on tea lately! ;-)

It can happen. I'm a left brained woman who was with a right brain man for 20 years. We were happy for about 15 of those so it is possible to find happiness. Just takes work, like any relationship. Regarding the talk about work, did she indicate long hours without much time for much else? I'm with dfg, and think you may want to give her another chance if there were enough other things you liked about her.

She did 99% of the talking, mostly about herself, and sent mixed messages with her text; which I responded to. Haven't heard from her since. She was interesting to meet, but my only regret is foregoing my usual phone chat before taking the time to go and meet her.
