I have been on both sides of this situation, and can easily diagnose it as classic miscommunication. It's all in the interpretation. What you perceive as "vaguely in cyberspace", the other person thinks of as "took a big chance, easy to do online because I like him/her too much to be articulate in person." My advice is make your feelings (even your pain) more obvious. You may think your feelings as obvious, but I can guarantee that they are not. The more I like some, the less I can tell if that person likes me back. Good luck.
