Nerve Dating Confessions

January 3, 10:25AM I need new friends. Ones who travel instead of spend money stupidly. Who has 3 birthday parties but won't spend 6 days on an island for the same amount or less? Idiots. CAN RELATE (9) CAN'T RELATE (4) FLAG FOR ABUSE

Who judges other people based on how those people spend their own personal money? What if you found a nice person who had no extra money for travel or parties? Would you still like to be their friend? If you want friends who share your interests by all means go ahead and find some, but putting down your current friends shows what kind of person you are...not a good one at all.

I'd rather go to a fun birthday party than waste my money & vacation days staying drunk at some shitty beach at a shitty tourist resort on some shitty island

Just like people when date, people like friends within their socioeconomic class. It's pretty stupid to assume the poster is a "not a good person" because they want to travel or share an experience with a friend or friends. You realize this is one small snippet of the person and its pretty idiotic to say that this of all things makes them a bad person. They didn't say fuck my friends, they don't kill bunnies with me in my spare time, or harass the less fortunate, or use racial and/or homophobic slurs casually. And @sg that's compete situational and opinion based, maybe that's what your idiot friends do but that's not how I spend my vacations.

@gl anyone who calls someone else (let alone a "friend") an idiot because that person doesn't share views on how to spend disposable income...isn't a great person. Also, @sg good point on the vacation days. Even if people can afford a vacation, it can be really hard to take the time off work.

@op-sometimes you grow out of your friends. I had a solid group of about 8 close friends where we were all like best friends. Hung out all the time. But as we grew, a couple of us were much more focused on our education and careers and we just ended up not really being friends any more there was no falling out or anything like that. We just slowly gravitated to people with similar goals and interests. So perhaps it is time to start finding friends with similar goals.

I'd rather go somewhere I've never been than spend 1 night in a club with sweaty, sloppy drunks, drinking 40 dollar vodka for $300 dollars any day. Plus it's January, everyone has sparkly new vacation time. Idiots do waste money partying when they could have an experience in a new place.
