I was in a long distance relationship that really worked, but we also saw each about once a month for 3 or 4 days. The space allowed us to be our own people, but then when we were together we concentrated all our energy on each other. It worked because our communications styles were similar.

No end date, unfortunately. I've only just started a long distance relationship, with someone who has been posted to the other side of the world. Where he will be working is so remote that there isn't reliable internet or electricity, for that matter. I'm feeling nervous about the whole thing. I want to be strong and hang on to what a wonderful relationship this is, but it is definitely going to be a trying time. Wish me luck.
