I know this is probably someone who is just trolling, but how sad is it that this has probably been said by people before getting into relationships?

Said by someone who doesn't trust their own ability to deal with difficult interpersonal situations. The kind of person who is completely at a loss when everything isn't Ward and June Cleaver Perfect all the time.

I have refused a few, "I need to know your last name (so I can Google you)" demands. Most resulted in no first date; which was fine with me. This is really good advice before getting married. A year after my brother married his wife he found out she had over $60,000 in credit card debt that she was hiding. Once he was married her debt was now his debt too. He paid it off and they are still married but it put a lot of stress on their relationship which was totally unfair to him. I really think it should be a legal requirement before two individuals get married.
