Nerve Dating Confessions

April 15, 10:26AM How do I know if I love you? It can't be a good sign that I feel the need to ask. Does every time you love someone feel different from every other time? #needadvice CAN RELATE (2) CAN'T RELATE (1) FLAG FOR ABUSE

yes, every time feels different. but love is the thing that makes you want someone to be happy, not the thing that makes you afraid to lose someone!

Yes, every time you fall in love it's DIFFERENT! But if there's ONE thing i've learned over 30 years of relationships (3 LTRs) it's that LOVE is a decision - not a feeling. Yes, emotions and "feelings" are part of love, but emotions are (and always will be) fleeting. As a relationship grows and matures, the tingly-butterfly's-in-my-tummy-can't-stop-thinking-about-you-when-can-I-see-you-again-can't-finish-a-breath-without-you feelings will also grow and mature. The problem with so many people is that when those feelings DO start to grow and change, they get pissed because they think those feelings ARE THE SOLE INDICATOR of the viability of their relationship. When, in fact, the LTR is maturing and growing - but many want to live in that brief period of bliss. That's also why so many bail out and resume their vein search for an LTR that will never meet their fantasy! LOVE IS A DECISION!
