Its nice, when you do something super embarrassing, to kind of protect yourself from feeling the full terror. My recommendation is take this as a lesson to relax a little bit, because clearly you tried to drink to overcompensate and things went REALLY BAD!

If you feel inclined, maybe you should write him a short note/email/text (whatever is your style) to say, "I'm sincerely sorry for what happened last night. I started on the wrong foot, and would like to make it up to you." Then put some effort into this next date, and loose the alcohol. Show him who you really are. Good luck!
